Kitchen worktops restoration is another of our specialised services. As with the floors, our kitchen worktop restoration service uses completely dust free sanding technology to provide the best results with minimal disruption for our clients’ households.
We got a call from our existing client about our recommendations for their badly worn out kitchen work surfaces. They were discoloured and had black water stains due to water penetrating wood where sealant had worn out.
It’s actually very important to not leave kitchen worktops sanding until too late. Once visible grey areas appear it’s about time worktops get restored. If you have black water marks on your wood, chances are that removing those completely will not be possible anymore.

Initial sanding immediately exposed beautiful clean wood. Variety of different power tools were used to access all areas of kitchen worktops including edges, corners and tricky areas around appliances. All surfaces are finished with very fine sandpaper and perfected by hand to ensure the best possible finish.

It was our client’s request to make the worktops darker. In order to achieve that, we first applied spirit based wood dye in medium oak. The dye was rubbed in by hand. By using this technique we can apply the dye with no application marks and fully expose wood grain, making the wood look as if it was aways this colour.
Each length of the work surfaces had to be stained in one run and as quickly as possible to achieve uniform finish.

After the dye was applied everythere and completely dry, we could apply hard wax oil by Osmo. Only then the true colour of dyed wood was brought out fully.
Once the process was complete the tranformation was truly visible. We completely transformed old worn out worktops into beautiful wooden work surfaces. Their rich full colouring, and visible sharp detail of wood grain really makes them stand out as a key element of the kitchen’s interior
